RELATIONABLE
What Does It Mean to Be Relationable?
Most organizations do not fail because of bad ideas. They struggle because relationships break down. That realization is what led me to create the word Relationable.Relationable describes the capacity to build, sustain, and repair healthy relationships through self awareness, emotional intelligence, clear boundaries, and intentional communication. This applies to individuals, families, teams, and entire organizations.
Being Relationable starts with understanding your emotional impact on others. How you show up affects the room, whether you intend it to or not. It also requires the ability to clearly communicate needs, limits, and expectations instead of hoping people will guess correctly. Another core component is repair. Healthy relationships are not conflict free. They are repair rich. Being willing to address issues, take responsibility, and reconnect after tension matters far more than avoiding discomfort. Relationable leadership also balances empathy with accountability. Compassion without standards creates chaos. Accountability without empathy creates fear. Strong relationships require both. Many people resist emotional intelligence because it feels abstract or uncomfortable. In reality, it is no different than physical training. It is a muscle. It strengthens through repetition, not perfection. That is why The Relationable Business focuses on nine simple tools. These tools break emotional intelligence down into small, daily practices that anyone can use. No theory overload. No jargon. Just practical ways to improve how we relate to one another.
Every short video I share is designed to offer one small rep. One moment of awareness. One opportunity to choose growth over comfort. Watch the video to explore the idea of Relationable more deeply. If you are developing leaders or planning events focused on sustainable relationships and culture, I would love to connect.
